Markets in Asia dropped sharply overnight. The Nikkei, Hang Seng, and Shanghai Composite all fell over 2.5%.

Stocks in banks and insurance companies were hit especially hard on concerns about the global credite crisis. Mitsubishi UFJ Financial was down 7.9%. Nomura was off 4.3%. China Life (NYSE:LFC) was off 3.4%
